turninto.online is a small set of free, fast image tools that run in your browser — a converter, a compressor, and an extended-format converter for the two cases the first two genuinely can't handle. No accounts, no waiting on a server for most of it.
Why we built this
Most online file tools work the same way: you upload your file to their server, they process it, then (hopefully) delete it. That means your file passes through someone else's server every single time, for even the simplest job.
We wanted something different for the common case: tools where your file never has to leave your device at all. Modern browsers are capable enough to handle image processing directly, so that's what most of this site is built on.
The three tools

🧩 Extended Converter
Handles GIF and BMP as output formats specifically — something no browser can do on its own. This one works differently from the other two: see the note below.
Important difference: the Extended Converter genuinely uploads your file to our server, briefly, to convert it — this is the one part of the site where the "files never leave your device" promise doesn't apply. We built it as a clearly separate, clearly labeled tool for exactly this reason: no browser can encode a GIF or BMP file itself, so the only way to offer that output is server-side processing. Files are deleted immediately after conversion, not kept or reused.
Data & security
We think it's more honest to explain how this works than to just ask you to trust a policy:
- Image Converter and Image Compressor: your files are never uploaded, not "uploaded and then deleted" — never uploaded in the first place.
- Extended Converter: your file is uploaded temporarily, converted, and deleted immediately afterward — not kept, not reused, not looked at by a person.
- We have no file data to sell or mine from the first two tools, since we never receive those files at all.
- Limited technical data is still collected for basic site operation — IP addresses for detecting abuse on our admin login and tracking broken links, and anonymous local browser storage for free-tier usage limits. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
We're a small, independent site and don't currently hold a formal third-party security certification. We'd rather say that plainly than imply something we can't back up.

* Depends on your browser's support — most current Chrome, Firefox, and Edge versions handle it.
** Animated GIFs convert their first frame only, since none of our standard output formats can store animation.
Free tier
The Image Converter and Compressor are free with generous but real limits: currently up to 20MB per file and 15 conversions per browser. No account needed. A premium tier with higher limits is planned but not live yet.
